For 2025, Santa Monica College has become a powerhouse of athletic achievement. Within the competitive landscape of the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A), the Corsairs have proven that dedication, teamwork, and pride still define the blue and white.

This season, four SMC teams have captured conference titles: Football, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Volleyball, marking one of the most successful years in the school’s athletic history.

Our first conference champion this season is the Corsairs’ Football team, with 11 games and an average of 40 points per game, showing the determination of the student athletes in working for this win. Head Coach Kelly Ledwith has also been doing an amazing job of keeping these athletes motivated. From the opening kickoff to the final whistle of their championship-clinching game, the team played with heart, battling adversity, making key adjustments, and refusing to settle for less than victory. Their relentless pursuit of excellence is the standard for the team. SMC’s football legacy has reignited a spirit of pride across other sports in the program.

Second, our Women’s Soccer team gives a great highlight in student-athlete success. Head Coach Aaron Baditson led the women’s team towards success this season. From thrilling shutouts to comeback victories, this team showed that champions are built on consistency and belief. Their chemistry, sharpened through long practices and shared goals, became the foundation for another historic run. As they lifted the conference trophy, the message was clear: Santa Monica College remains a force to be reckoned with in women’s soccer.

Next, we have our Men's Soccer team led by Coach Tim Pierce. From the beginning of the season, Coach Pierce has found the perfect balance between confidence and composure. The Corsairs opened the 2025 season with a strong start, quickly emerging as one of the top programs in the state. But for Coach Pierce, early success was never the finish line. He’s kept his team grounded, reminding them that consistency is what wins championships. Pierce’s leadership has emphasized accountability, focus, and humility, ensuring that the Corsairs never get ahead of themselves. Each training session, each game, and each goal is treated as a step toward the ultimate prize, a championship.

Finally, our Corsairs’ Women’s Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Christian Cammayo, has guided the women’s volleyball program through one of its most competitive seasons yet. He describes his team as “competitive and resilient,” words that perfectly capture their journey through a demanding schedule filled with nationally ranked opponents. The Corsairs opened the year with an impressive 8–0 run. This showcased their potential and depth, but Coach Cammayo has been quick to frame every challenge as an opportunity for growth.
